Asus... Transformer Prime?

That's a pretty lame Transformer.

Asus has been gaining steam the last few years with their brand of affordable laptops and netbooks are looking to up the ante in the tablet market with something to rival the almighty iPad. The specifications are rightly phenomenal; the first tablet to use a quad-core processor, a built-in microSD slot and the coup de grace of sorts and reason for it's name: A built-in portable keyboard that has a full keyboard, SD memory card slot, USB slot and a touchpad, no less. The real point of controversy here (amongst a very vocal few) is the fact that, not only is the tablet named after one of the most popular pop-culture franchises: Transformers but, also adds to that the last name (or rank depending on the fiction) of the most popular Transformer ever, Optimus Prime.

It will no doubt sell well with techies and tablet fans alike but, one has to wonder if by using two very common words apart, for one product, together that conjure images of a very famous (and very copywritten) character; if Asus isn't walking into a trademark minefield with Hasbro (holder of the collective Transformers trademarks) - Only time will really tell.

We've all been there

Here is the new trailer for the hilarious documentary film Skull World, about the life and motivations of a man who engages in the sport of "box wars".
